DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of the Manager of MRI Services, and following established policies and procedures, operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathology.

DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of the Manager of MRI Services, and following established policies and procedures, operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathology.
- Provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in MRI.
- Ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting, willingness to rotate to all areas as the need arises, and holding appropriate registration and advanced certification, as required by the ARRT, and the ACR.
- The MRI technologist performs a wide array of studies including those for neurological, musculoskeletal, chest, abdominal, pelvic, vascular/arterial, breast, research and others as need be.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a graduate of an approved school that fulfills the ARRT requirements for primary or secondary pathway education in MRI. .
- Must be ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology.
- MRI Specialty required or obtained within one year of employment.
- BLS required
- Experience in MRI preferred. MRI specific classroom experience a plus.
